Twitter

TwitterI signed up with Twitter last week and have found it to be extremely interesting and educational. Yes, most people simply chatter, but they also include links to some great information about social media, marketing… whatever you’re interested in… even health and education… everything. It all depends on who you choose to follow.

What’s incredible about it is that you can witness the power of social media happening moment to moment right in front of your eyes. Social networking is a powerful and intriguing tool that you have to experience to truly understand. I’ve made contacts with other people in the industry that I may have never found otherwise. I feel like I’m climbing up a hill to the top with the help of many others.

I can tell you that Twitter works as a social media marketing tool because I have opted into quite a few lists of people that I found to be very interesting and that offer information or services that I would be highly inclined to purchase… and I’m not easily sold!

Interesting that “long sales letters” don’t compare with what is happening in this social arena. It’s “pull” advertising as opposed to “push”. It’s easy to quickly choose to like someone and trust them because you feel involved with them. They become friends. And friends buy from friends.

With the mini-profile that you can have at Twitter, you can link to one of your sites. That link is clicked often. Every time someone wants to know more about a person on Twitter, they click the link to their blog or site. They choose to get to know you and then either select to “Follow” you, or not.

You can also have multiple accounts to include links to multiple sites.

I highly recommend signing up with Twitter and learning all about it.

Start by going to my Twitter page, you’ll be confused as to what to do if you go to the homepage of Twitter. That’s what threw me off for a while.
