Twitter and Twirl

I’ve been using Twitter for a month or so now and am not only fascinated, but have learned a lot and connected with people I may have never known otherwise. This is a fascinating and useful tool for a variety of reasons, not to exclude new marketing on a social network. However, it can be a drain on productive time, so now I’m experimenting with Twirl. Twirl is a Twitter tool. Instead of trying to explain it to you, I thought I’d share this video, which is the one that got me started with Twirl…

New Media Web Strategies, Part One

Business BrandingAs of Monday, May 12th, I’ll officially embark on developing web strategies for a corporate website to include social media networking and marketing. This “new marketing” treats everything from customer service to the actual product/service as a complete strategy to grow the brand and sales.

When bringing promises into the social media world, care must be taken to ensure that the company actually lives up to them, or the strategy will utterly fail. Word-of-mouth is the viral effect of new marketing. However, if the “word” is bad, that could even be more viral than if it was good.

My goal in this new marketing is to reach the right target market for the company. You’ve heard that a million times, however with so much emphasis on building more and more traffic to your site, that goal seems to have lost its lure for many. Reaching millions of uninterested people is a worthless effort, and wasteful spending. Targeting the thousands that are interested is the leverage you want.

Build your brand, build targeted traffic, build your sales with social media marketing.

Branding is more than a logo or design. It’s also your customers’ experience with your products, services, and support staff. This is crucial to your sales process. It’s far less expensive to attract repeat sales than to bring in first time buyers. Be sure your customers are satisfied. They will buy from you again and tell others as well.

Think that you can’t beat the branding of a competitor? Think again. New media marketing gives you the chance. Did you know that America’s most popular soft drink is “other”?

Joel Comm

Joel CommSo I was “invited” today to be a part of Joel Comm’s new social networking site (www.TopOneNetwork.com), probably along with thousands of other “special” people on his list, but it’s pretty cool. I really like Joel Comm, even though he’s doesn’t seem to be a member himself! (Update: Joel is now listed on the membership roster).

Even though he made a “mistake” on a recent offer, pointed out by a few bloggers, he fixed it and seems like an “honest, hard working” man to me and he does a great job at bringing great information to his followers.

If and when you join his new networking site, feel free to add me as a friend, I’ll accept the invitation. Starting in a new community can seem difficult, but search “mywebgal” there, and in Twitter, Facebook, Digg… and others… and I’ll be there for you.

Here’s to Joel and his many adventures online. He’s definitely an early adopter and you should pay attention to what he has to say. I believe he will lead you in the right direction, as will I.

Best Wishes to All.
